Our Designs The Process for Design & Self Build

Wizard leads you through your basic ideas, makes sure all possibilities are considered and adds artistic flair and a practical experience to your schemes.

This process is completed in two stages:

Stage 1

• You fill in the details requested on our order page and make an initial payment – 60% of the total charge.
• We then send you our survey pack containing:
• Survey paper and instructions for drawing it up.
• Sachets for soil samples.
• Questionnaire for all possible requirements.
• Free post return envelope.
• You complete the survey and questionnaire etc. and return it to us. We also ask for photos, either digital or prints.
• Once we have received all of this we will produce your design and send it off for your approval within 21 days. *

Stage 2

When we know there are no adjustments to be made to your design, you return to the order page and make your final payment – the balance due.

We then complete the rest of your design package giving you:

• Access to all Wizards on-line facilities including:
• Our Plant Profilier which gives photos and descriptions of all:
  Plants & Trees on your plan. Click for more details.
• Photos of any features or structures recommended.
• Full build instructions for all elements suggested.
• Quotes for Supply & Delivery of all Plants & Trees **, Equipment & Structures *** suggested.
• Our list of National Suppliers giving Wizard Gardeners special terms - including your Wizard Gardens / Jewsons Trade Terms Card.
• Suggested order in which to tackle the jobs and other information for your unique design.

All of this is sent by mail or made available via our website.

FAQ's
Q. What if there are some aspects of the design we don’t like?
A. See "Our Promise".

Q. The survey sounds a bit difficult. I’m no good at that sort of thing.
A. It will literally take only a few minutes. All you need is a tape measure and our survey paper. The instructions tell you how to do it.

Q. What is the best time of the year to do my project?
A. Construction and planting out container stock can be done at any time of the year – weather permitting.

Q. Do I have to do it all at once?
A. Not at all. Although it is best and cheapest to get it all over and done with in one hit, your project can be completed in stages.

Q. Why can’t I just use software and do my own design?
A. For most people, for most purposes, garden design software is useless and a waste of money. Se what others think by looking at (faqsoftw). If their comments there don’t put you off software then nothing will.

Planting Plans Only:

• Fill in the details on our order page.
• Calculating the area of planting required - including surface area of walls: length x height (maximum height of 2 meters).
• Make the full payment - 0.95p per sq mtr.
• We then send you a survey pack containing:
• Survey paper.
• Sachets for soil samples.
• Questionnaire for your requirements.
• Free post return envelope.
• You draw out your planting area on the survey paper, take a few soil samples and send it all back to us.
• Once we have received all of this we will produce your design and quotation for plants etc. required and send it to you within 21 days. *
