Charging the Client for Design Work
As designers and contractors we have never had a problem charging for design work.
In fact we take the view that we only want clients who understand the value of good design - and will pay for it.
If this aspect worries you then there is the option of say charging only half the fee with the other half coming from the contracts profitability.
We would never reccommend providing the design free of charge. If it has not been paid for no value is put on it and you are asking for trouble.
* Assuming normal trading conditions.
